What is one thing you wish someone would have told you about starting your spiritual journey? By Christina McDowell

I wish someone would have held me and told me that it’s so hard. It is the hardest thing you will have to do. Coming to know one's higher self is all-consuming. I wish they would have told me it gets lonely. I think to be lonely is the best way to be one. You must lean on your own beliefs and courage. That there is a fire inside of you that must be ignited to gain access to peace and harmony. You have to find your faith and dig deep. Try by focusing on one realization at a time. Find ways to implementer realization one at a time. This is your time to create. To breath. To live yourself and all you are made of, both light and dark is the most exquisite experience of being human. I wish that I would have known of the sacrifices you make to be healed, loved, and worthy. Healing is constant but you do overcome cycles. You just need to believe. Take one step at a time and walk slowly. Enjoy becoming educated. Find the ways you best learn and apply them to your research endeavors. There are going to be so many times that your physical body behind a waterfall of tears will want to drop to your knees and quiet. DON’T. The other side is right there within your reach. You can not cross the finish line if you are not standing.
